“Sketching isn’t about pretty pictures. It’s about capturing feeling, telling your visual story, and unlocking ideas before perfection gets in the way.” — Matt B.

❋ Expert Feedback

With an intimate class size, you’ll get lots of time for instructor feedback and help

❋ Professional Demonstrations

Watch demonstrations in real-time on an 80” Screen. No trying to look over a shoulder

❋ Hands-on learning

It’s encouraged to sketch along through the entire course. You won’t get in trouble for ‘doodling’

These are materials I’m very familiar with and so can instruct confidently. If you have tools that aren’t listed here but are super keen on, please bring them.

Paper - Sketchbook or loose-leaf. Smooth paper will handle ink better. I use a stack of basic printer paper on a clipboard.

Pencil - Blackwing Pearl or an equivalent 2B style pencil

Ballpoint Pen - any ballpoint will work. A classic Bic is great.

Tech/Micron Marker - Any brand (Micron, Faber Castell, Prismacolor etc)

OPTIONAL

Tombow Marker - My favourite (gives life to your lines)

Mechanical Pencil - any will do

Brush Pen - Felt or other (advanced)

Fountain Pen/ Dip Pen with nibs + Ink (advanced)

Copic Markers - or equivalent alcohol base markers. A set of greyscale markers is ideal, but any can add life to sketches.
